Hi SF randon group:
I sent the message below to the Davis Bike Club list, but I thought there
might be folks on this list interested who might not be subscribed to the
DBC list. If you're getting a duplicate, I apologize in advance!
I'm leading a monthly winter training ride series to help keep folks
motivated for the club's spring brevet series. Most of the rides will leave
from the new start location for the Davis series -- the park-n-ride lot at
Mace Blvd. and I-80. But this Saturday, Susan Jacobson and Michael Tigges
are leading an East Bay/Peninsula/BART adventure described below.
If people are interested, I'd be happy to continue posting information about
the Davis winter series as the rides come up. I realize Davis may be a bit
far afield for some folks on this list, but it's also possible some of you
may be planning to do some of the Davis brevets. The start location is easy
to get to from the freeway or Amtrak, and it's a chance to preview the roads
at beginning and end of our new routes (and scope out possible pre-event
coffee options).

Conversation: Two winter training rides in December
Subject: Two winter training rides in December
Hi everyone:
These rides will be in the December newsletter, but I thought I'd give
everyone a heads-up because the first one is coming up at the end of this
week.
There will be two December rides in the winter long-distance training series
I announced awhile back. The one on Saturday, Dec. 2, starts in the East Bay
and is led by Susan Jacobson and Michael Tigges. Here's their description:
Saturday, Dec. 2, 3/M/85 SF Bay Area ride Southern Crossing: Castro Valley
BART to SF via Dumbarton Bridge
Meet at Castro Valley BART for an early and prompt 7 am departure. Route is
via Palomares to Fremont, across Dumbarton Bridge, through Menlo Park to
Woodside. Follows Canada Rd to Skyline, then the Great Hwy to Golden Gate
Bridge, on to Embarcadero BART; optional extension to Sausalito will make it
~100 mi. Co-listed with Grizzly Peak cyclists, brevet style riding (self
sufficient, no regroups). RAIN CANCELS. Susan Jacobson/Michael Tigges, (510)
339-9612 or susanjacobson at earthlink dot net. Can also join ride @ Fremont
Peet's (near Fremont BART) or Woodside Bakery, e-mail for route before ride.
Directions from Davis: I80, S 680, W580 exit Strobridge to Redwood Rd Castro
Valley BART, distance ~82 mi, time 1+ hr.
On the following Saturday, Dec. 9, I will lead a ride from the Mace
park-n-ride to Moskowite and back. I will send out a link with a map and
routesheet to the club list in a few days. This ride starts at 8 a.m. and is
about 85 miles.
