Re: [sfrandon] Mixed terrain brevet to the calendar?

Hi Carlos,

I came close to signing up for that ride last year, but since I hadn't ever done any brevets, ultimately decided against it.  This year I finished my first brevet series (minus a 1200K), and am very excited to try a mixed terrain populaire.  I'd be using an Atlantis.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi All,

Last year I mapped a mixed terrain (paved and fire roads) route for
the populaire but only a few people registered and so the event was
cancelled. This year I've been doing many mixed terrain rides and came
up with an nicer ~100k route that is about 50% paved 50% on fire
roads.

Who's interested in doing this type of ride and should we consider
adding the Populaire once again the callendar? The route is doable in
an all-rounder bicycle. Some of us have been doing this rides on
Saturdays.

You can see photos of the scouting of the first route here:

and photos on the new route here:

are form the same route, the photo of JimG walking the bike is from
another ride)

Carlos

Tom, I think if enough people are interested in the Mixed Terrain Populaire (SFR-MTP ?), and let Todd (RBA) know, he may add it to the calendar. I have no say...
