What a beautiful weekend to be outside. I hope you got play at least
half as much golf as I did, the weather couldn't have been better.
Russ, Shawn, Shooby and Tim came out bright and early on Saturday to
help me start my 26th year off right. Shawn got a ate start after being
called to fix someone's heat, but we were a little forgiving on the official ruling
for missing holes at the start of the round...

On Sunday Dave Briscoe and I ventured down to Stephen's City, Va
for the Sherando Spartan, a PDGA B-tier event. It was a beautiful day,
started off a little chilly, but warmed to about 60 by mid afternoon. I
must say, Dave tore it up in the first round! Never played the course
before, playing with people he hasn't played with before, at his first
away tournament, he shoots even on the par 60 layout! We came walking
back in for lunch looking like he had just killed a lion with his bare
hands.
I managed to put together a fairly solid round, but played a bit too
conservative to really give myself enough birdie opportunities. A -3
landed me on the second card, 4 strokes off the leader. The longer
layout of the second round was more of the same, just not enough
opportunities, although i was cashing in on the ones I did have. I
finished at +4, for a tourney total of +1. Dave had a bit a slide in
the second round as well, but still turned in a solid performance. Good
enough to win some plastic! Those of you interested can check the PDGA
results and compare our scores to rest the of the field.
This Saturday, Russ and I are heading to Lewisberry for Boulder Bash
VI. We'll be leaving Chambersburg around 7A. If you want to join
us, let me know asap.
Otherwise, see you Sunday!
