Unseasonably warm weather brings out the masses! Aside from our large
group, I counted at least a dozen other people out golfing, as well as
numerous dog walkers, playground users and one young couple traipsing
through the mud with white sneakers on...
It was a constant battle against the wind and mud. Some fought hard,
and some fell harder. There was also a whole lot of squeaky shoulders
out there. Fellas, you gotta come out more often so the rust doesn't
build up so thick!
Highlights from our card (yes, we had enough players for two
groups!)
Brad/Russ/Greg/Mark
Brad drop in pars 1
Greg drop in birdies 5
Russ hits a 50ft downhill putt to save par on 10
Brad drop in birdie on 13
Brad birdies 16! My first on 16A. That leaves 1A and 8A for me...
Brad birdies 18
Lowlights:
Mark sixes 1
Greg fives 4
Brad fives 8
Russ and Mark five 9
Mark fives 10
Mark gets wet and fives 11
Mark fives 12
Greg fives 16
Russ fives 17
Mark sixes 17
Greg double circle fives 18
Mark fives 18
**Russell bogied the entire front nine, except
for holes 4 and 9, which he parred and double, respectively. Just
wanted to point that out...
Looks like a lot of scrambling on the other card.
Dick go the lone birdie, on hole 5
Wild Bill and Nick were knocking in some solid pars.
Shawn looked to be pretty steady bogey golf, back and forth a little
bit.
Dave left halfway through the front, apparently before it got too ugly.
Totals
Brad Lescalleet 56
Greg Walter 64
Russ Johnston 67
Shawn Wenger 69
Dick Gogin 71
Mark Eckerty 79
Nick Krawczak 85
Wild Bill 86
Dave Briscoe DNF
This Sunday, February 15th is the Boulder Woods
Ice Bowl. I am planning on leaving my place around 7A. If anyone
is interested in going, let me know.
The following Sunday is the Freeze! Gate will be
opened at 8, I'll be there to open them. I'll be
at the course the day before (Saturday the 21st) to put up temp
tee signs, clear any debris that needs to be, and also to saw up the
tree that's down on 12B's fairway. We'll also need to move baskets in
to first round positions. I could use a hand with that if anyone's
available.
So far Ian, Russ and Myself have committed to a case of brew for the
CTB contest. A few more would be spectacular. Also, Nick and Russ have
donated to the lunch/expense fund. Any other help with that would also
be appreciated.
Questions/comments/concerns/suggestions? You know where to find me.
See you on the course!
