Merry Chrismahanikwanzika and a Happy New Year to you all! I hope
everyone had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones. And
hopefully you got to sneak in a round or two of golf while you were off
work! A lot has gone down since you last heard from me.
• Two weeks ago Russ and I played $2/$2/$2. I won the front, Russ the
back, and I clinched the overall with a deuce on 18.
• Last week Wayne, Wild Bill, Nick and I enjoyed a pleasant round.
Wayne thought he was hot stuff and could beat me with just his putters.
I conned him in to carrying his entire bag still with a promise of an
early departure. Since I had him after 9 I stayed on, and finished 2
strokes better than Nordberg. I must say though, he has a
consistent putter game, that's for sure.
• Yesterday we had a nice small group gather. We decided to change the
format up a little, and we went doubles vs triples.
Tyson and Russell were Team Extra! Extra! Read

• A few of our own made the trip to Codorus State Park for the 3rd
North vs. South back in November. Disc Golf Monthly was there, and they
caught all the action on film. If you have Comcast, you can see the
episode on OnDemand. Go to Sports, then More Sports. You can also see
the entire thing online. Watch the clips
from Episode 56.
• Ice Bowl season is upon us. The 2nd Annual
Whispering Falls Freeze will be held on Sunday February 22nd. I wanted to have
it on a Saturday, but this was pretty much the only date available this
year, so we're gonna make it work. All the details are in the flier I
attached. Feel free to pass it around to anyone you think may be
interested, and post it up at other courses. Ice Bowls are a great way
to introduce a newer player to tournament golf because it's such a laid
back atmosphere.
Like all WF events, we are providing lunch for all players! To do this,
we need help from you guys, the club.
We are asking that anybody that can,
bring/sponsor a case of beer for the CTB contest. If you'd rather
monetarily sponsor lunch, that's appreciated as well.
**Please let me know how you can help, we'd like
to have a tally/total of what's being sponsored by February 14th so we
can get the remaining necessary supplies.
This will greatly increase our proceeds to donate to Maranatha
Ministries Food Bank!
So far the following are in for a case:
Brad Lescalleet
Tim Lescalleet
Greg Lescalleet
Russell Johnston
•Other area Ice Bowls:
Stephens City/Sherando 1/25*
Creekside 1/31
Boulder Woods 2/15*
Walkersville/Middletown 2/21
*I will be attending these. If you're interested, let me know and I'll
get you details.
Ian, I have a disc that says you owe me $5. And check your youtube,
fool.
I think that's more than enough for one update, so I'll leave you with
this. I know some of you are frustrated with the new water hazard on
17. I also know some of you have a disc, or two, in said water hazard.
Please refrain from any heroic rescue attempts! Do NOT try this at
home!
If anybody has a scorecard with the distances for all the B pins on
it, I'd love to get those distances from you. I can't seem to find any
of my 1004 copies...
See you on the course!
-Brad
