Re: Ladder League's future
For what it's worth I agree with Shim. I don't think there would be
much of an uptake from open teams to play in ladder league with the
well established LWL that exists. It could possibly provide some
competative oppostion for the better student teams. However, I think
this need will be filled by LWL.
There are a couple of issues with this view. This year LWL may not
be as big due to worlds and people training for it etc? I guess it
wil still go ahead but don't know how it will work.
There is also the argument that there should be the potential for
open teams who are a long way from London to play games and that
university teams provide some opposition. As one of the main reasons
for setting up LL was to increase the amount that people played
RATHER than to find the best league team I don't see there being a
problem with just arranging local games.
The last point is that it would be great for Ultimate towards more
league based fixtures and that open inclusion into LL is a
possiblity. I just feel that we should get the student LL set up
well and then maybe the UKUA may be able to have a smoother
transition into this having understood all the pro's and con's.
So in short keep LL for the SE students.
