Hey dudes, an update for you,
Indoor Regionals:
No bids yet, but the Mohawks are going to make enquiries about hosting it again.
Other tournaments:
We've also got to host Outdoor Regionals in March, there's been a bit
of chatter from Holloway Hammers about hosting it again so we'll see
how that works out. It's possible Brighton might put in a bid too,
I'm looking into a pretty sweet venue down here.
We (or the South West) will also have to host: Indoor Women's
Qualifiers (Jan), Indoor Nationals division 2 (Nov/Dec), and Outdoor
Nationals (End April). Get thinking about what you can do... EOI
deadline for div2 indoors has already passed, I need bids by 1st
October! Please help us make this early planning for the uni year
actually work by making some phonecalls to your sportscentre.
Ladder League:
I know term hasn't started yet and nobody's around, but you can still
make preliminary arrangements to play Ladder League games. Mohawks
for example are planning to play SEULL games on the 3rd, 5th, 7th and
9th Wednesdays of term - hopefully two games a time, with 1st & 2nd
teams crossing over. So, if any date sounds good for your first
competitive outdoor match of the season, just send out a feeler email
(using the contacts on
http://www.seultimate.org/uni/league/teams.html ) to (for example)
Mohawks or Surrey, who're both up for it, and the chances are nothing
dramatic will come up which'll mean you'll have to cancel. Planning
is the key to victory! And with such a fine prize fund (
http://www.seultimate.org/uni/league/prizes.html - please donate)
taking form, you'll want to be in the running for it. Make use of the
new resources!
Calendar (again):
The university calendar 2005/2006 is available for download on the UKU site:
http://www.ukultimate.com/wmslib/uniultimate/Uni_Calendar_2006_all_v0.72.xls
If you want one with just uni dates and bid/eoi deadlines then check out
http://www.ukultimate.com/wmslib/uniultimate/Uni_Calendar_2006_v0.71.xls
I strongly recommend you download the xls and print out a few copies
on a colour printer, hand them out to your committee members for them
to stick on their walls, it'll really help staying on top of things
for your club this year. Once again, take advantage of these resources
because they might not be around next year, who knows...
OK I'll stop hassling you guys for a while now... I'm just excited
about next year is all. Hope everything goes well for all of you
moving into new accomodation over the next few weeks.
Later,
Felix
