Gerrick,

Here I was trying to teach you a very fine student skill and you just wouldn't listen, so I had the to change the way I taught and make it more meaningful for you.  Hopefully you will participate better next time.

Your Buddy,  (Stickers are in the mail.)

Leon

It should be noted that Gerrick was a very good sport and we really had a good time messing with him.

Congrats to Ysabel for her induction into the Order of the Bough!

Thank you to everyone that made it out to teach, play and learn at Fighters Collegium.
I have not compiled my reports yet but it appears that we had around 35 rapier fighters
that fought.  I appreciate everyone that helped and I would like to thank
Corbin, Ysabel , Leon, Cameron, Sarah Elizabeth, Thomas, Stefan and John James for
teaching classes. I would also like to thank Mikolaj for handling the C&T classes and sparring for the entire day.
To those that my addled brain cannot name at the moment and to the rapier fighters, thank you for making your event great.

I would also like to apologize for any difficulties that occurred due to time delays and scheduling slips.

A couple of items followed me home.
1 cloak Mustard colored - Email me to ID and claim
1 cloak Burgundy w/trim - Owner Identified
1 3 legged stool - owner Identified

Hi;

I just wanted to send a word of Thanks to your wonderful Barony and especially to Baron Killian and Baroness Katherine.
Thank you for putting together and running a FABULOUS Event this weekend!  You guys did a wonderful job covering all the bases and working together to keep things running smoothly!   I loved the fact that you as Baron and Baroness were leading by example, by your service, by your calmness in all you did weither it was running to walmart for missing items or setting up the table and chairs in the hall, or getting things ready for lunch, or judging for the A&S awards.    I also, loved the fact that you were willing to allow people that were new to doing things to do things and make mistakes without condemnation or stripping them of their duties, but learning fom the mistakes to help these people to suceed and grow.   This is the signs and gifts of true Leadership, for which you have earned true loyality from your people.   ( I heard with my ears that You are the "BEST BARON AND BARONESS IN THE MERIDIES" and they show you the love and respect that you have earned and are due at a moments notice, without reservation!)
I went to the event to teach my class and to come home fairly early (like 1-2pm) as I didn't expect the event to fun, entertaining, enjoyable, peaceful, as well attended as it was, nor to meet such neat new friends while atching up with some others that I haven't seen in what seemed like "Forever" (and also, I didn't know any non-fighters that were going to be there to hang out with).
I was having such a great time that I changed out of my garb at about 2:30 or so and sat and talked with some wonderful ladies (forgive me for forgetting you names..... Willam's mama, Mora (edward's lady), and Cormac's Squire and wife for whom have a son at uah.   PLEASE, send me a note as to correct names and spelling of names, so that I might be able to properly address you next time I see you, at Magna Faire!) until I saw you Baron Killian & Baroness Katherine, leading the troops to transform the hall for court and then dinner of the wonderful B-B-Q that I was smelling all day!  Thank you!

One of the most precious things that I wanted to pass on to you, was a very simple act of kindness that was shown...... Baroness Katherine, you touched my daughter's heart when you gave her that cookie and when you took the moment to make her feel special when she showed you her curtsy.   She beamed with pride after you took the moment to tell her she did a good job as she is a nervous as anyone, wanting to be good at what she does.   The "topper on the cake" was when we were driving home and she said "Mama, even tho' I wasn't able to do children's activities, I had a great time today!   It was really special to me that the Lady let me curtsy for her and get a cookie even BEFORE I did it! Thanks Mama for all the fun times today!"    Oh, does this child know how to melt her mama's heart or what???

Anyways, the bottom line is, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a fabulously enjoyable event!    You all did a GREAT Job and we look forward to seeing you in 3 weeks!!!!

As Always,
Yours in Service to the Dream, Forever,

Oh, Gerrick you are so right!    It was a Killer time!

Thank you for the chance to run the class on the "Care and Feeding of your Fighter" (AKA "supporting your fighter"    I didn't have have a large number of people in class, but we had yummy food, so kept having fighters stop by and put their 2 cents worth into the class (for which I LOVE!)

********** MARK YOUR CALENDARS:  I will be teaching this class again (a longer one at Winter Coleigum that Hawk will be Autocratting on Jan 30,2010 at the Pulaski (TN) Rec Center (off of exit 14 on 65).    It is a really nice site and if we PRAY, CROSS OUR FINGERS, ASK WHOM EVER YOU LOOK TO, for wonderful weather, there is a Great outdoor cement stage area and I'd love to see you Rapier fighter's do some kind of theatrical performance for all to see!    Hawk loves the theater, along with alot of others in the Rapier community, so it wouldn't be that far a streatch to do something like this........  Heck, Gerrick aren't you the "Table Dancer"???????
Also, ladies........ I know that we love to watch our fighters, we love to make things, love to do hand work, and just sit and talk.......... Well, at this same event...... from what I hear, we will be having a sewing room, where we will help you make a 30 min basic t-tunic pattern and we will have some material around so that you'll be able to make a t-tunic and take it home with you.     We have some people that have been given bought, aquired, "stole for pennies", part of "lost and found", etc......... so we will have a beautiful selection of different colors, weights, types of fabric, available for most people's desires for garb, and this will be just before Gulf wars, so who doesn't need more Garb for the War??

Anyways, Back to the wonderful event yesterday......... Thanks for the Great time and fun event........ I don't think the weather could have been nicer for all!

Hazzah for the GREAT team and Barony that put this on!

As always,
In Service to the Dream, Forever,

Sarah Elizabeth

P.S.  Tristram was right, Gerrik, once I met I do want to stab you.

Thanks from Lorenzo di Toscano,

I had an awesome time at Fighter's Collegium yesterday and I wanted to thank all
of the members of the MoB who were gracious enough to take time to spar with me
and to lend me the benefit of their experience and constructive criticism.
Thanks especially to Leon, Corbin, Thomas, and Francois for your specific
critiques on how I can improve my ability on the field, I look forward to
putting your advice to good use. Until I see all of you again, fight bravely,
fight honorably, and above all fight safely.

Lorenzo di Toscano of Vulpine Reach

Now you know what they say when you get old.   "The second thing that goes is the memory, now I can not remember what the first thing was......"

I want to thank all of the fighters who attended Legends this past weekend.  Although it was put together at the last minute, we had a great best two out of three round-robin in the morning and a fun insult exhibition in the afternoon.  The crowd really enjoyed it and I heard several people who had previously not thought much of fencing say they really enjoyed watching us fight.
Lord Mikolaj Pilipas (who wil hopefuly forgave me for misspelllinng hIs Nname) won The Blade of the Sun Tournament in the morning and Lord William of Sol Haven is currently working on his prize (don't feel bad Mikolaj, the stick-jocks have to wait on their shields too).  I enjoyed crossing blades with you all and look forward to seeing even more of you at Castle Wars.  Take care everyone.
