Okay, folks, just a reminder that Border Raids is not too far off. I assume
Meridies will be holding a court, and there appear to be a number of fencers
planning to attend.
Lets get busy sending in letters to the Crown recommending worthy souls for
CARs, okay?

Edmund

That would be (to the best of my knowledge) Francois from down 'Bama way.

And I'm glad you reminded me--Osprey, does your offer for a new ring still
stand?

It should allow you to put in the link to the website for Arabian
Nights: http://www.geocities.com/shire_of_arenal2000/an2004.html

We'll see it that works. If you are looking to put up more specific
information on the rapier events beyond what they have on the
website, then you will have to find another method of delivery.

Good luck.

Greetings all,

As Ancyra said in her prior post, I need contact info on all who are
coming to the practice.

This information will make your access to the base as smooth as
possible. All you'll have to do is show up, show your license, tell
them your going to Mag-T and they'll check the list I'm going to
generate then send you on your way. This will make things much
easier on all parties.

Info I'll need is as follows:

Full Mundane Name
Drivers License number
Vehicle make, model, and color
Vehicle registration (State and number)

You can e-mail me this information at

christopher.bass@...

If you are even thinking of showing up, e-mail me. That will save
time.

I need this information no later than 17th of May. That way I can
generate the document and submit it to base security. If you are a
Department of Defense employee or military, this doesn't apply to
you. Your ID gets you in.

If for some reason you don't get me your contact info, don't worry to
much. You will just have to call me from the front gate to come and
check you in. No biggy.

Thanks Ancyra who has worked so hard to make this happen.

And the directions have just come in ......

Take I-10 WEST towards NEW ORLEANS Merge onto US-90 towards the
Westbank Expwy. (This will take you across the Greater New Orleans
Bridge, also known as the Crescent City Connection) Get off on
Lafayette St. exit and take a left on the Lafayette (this will
turn into Belle Chasse Hwy after about 5 miles). Continue straight
for about 10 miles. You will go through a tunnel labeled
Belle Chasse.
After you pass a BP gas station on the right hand side, you will see
an
airplane (static display) Blue Angel.
Take a right at the light and welcome to Naval Air Station Joint
Reserve
Base New Orleans.
Inform the gate guard that you are expected at the Magnolia Terrace
(Mag-T)
for a function and that you need to contact your sponsor.
Have him call one of the following numbers and someone will come and
check
you in.
678-3844 (Magnolia Terrace phone number: Ann Bass or Heather Colyott)
952-8570 (AW2 Christopher Bass)
952-8571 (Ann Bass)
392-5158 (Heather Colyott)
Security will be expecting people for the event.
For driving access on base you will need the following information:
1. Drivers License
2. Vehicle Registration
3. Proof of insurance

The building has access to bathrooms, Air Conditioning, computer
projector
(for classes), Video and DVD, speakers, microphone, etc.
There is no kitchen area but they do have deep sinks.

Heritage park is booked. So we will be holding the practice on May
the 23rd (Sunday) from 10-5 at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station. It
will be in a hall / gym with air conditioning and real bathrooms. We
even get a -sort of- kitchen with big sinks and access to ice. So we
can fill up the sinks to make a cooler if people want to bring
drinks. I am planning on teaching a class on Rapier Armour
construction for any body who is interested. If any one else wants
to do a class, just let me know. Gellis will be meeting people at
the gate to allow access, but requests a list of mundane names of
those possibly coming to expedite the procedure. To enter the base
you will need an ID for all adults (driver's license or other
government issued ID) and all vehicles need proof of insurance and
registration. Also, please bring all your extra gear as there will
be some participants who would like to try out rapier for the first
time and need armour. I apologize this information took so long to
get out. I plan on being at the base the entire time, and welcome
you all to join me for what ever period you can be there. All are
invited, so please, help me get the word out to prospective rapier
fighters and those not on the lists. Specific directions to the base
will follow.

As far as I know, the practice is still on. Apparently there was a
conflict with another activity at Heritage park, so Gellis is wanting to
move it to the naval base. I am trying to get times and directions out
of him, and hoping that this doesn't all fall through.

Since it is only two weeks away now we were wondering if there was
any more information on the regional practice happenning in Slidell
on the 23rd of this month? I have had several inquiries from
local's who have begun to attribute it a "rumor" status and would
like to know more so that they can plan on being there.

Any information would be appreciated, especially a contact person

We have heard it is at Heritage Park in Slidell on the 23rd. What
people would like to know is a schedule and perhaps what to expect,
who is coming, that sort of thing.

competitions would attract a few people. I have a few projects in
the works that might do well. If I can get enough time to finish a
few of them I may contact the rapier marshal in charge to coordinate
donation. I may in fact be there dependant on the Army allowing me
leave during that time. Since it's just outside Fort Knox I can get
a hotel cheap!

FYI:

Nord du Lac is now Northover. The former would not pass, the latter would.

does anyone have the URL to the rapier rack and or the mimic period chest, the
one with wheels? I have hardcopies for both but the URL didn't print at the
bottom of the page and I didn't bookmark the original site. I've searched the
archive for this list but can't find them because I don't remember the title of
the original post. Doooh!
forgetful
