Recap: Voting is now underway at http://www.wtatour.com/ to decide
which of sixteen nominated women's tennis matches will be declared
the greatest ever (there will be two separate winners - fans and
media).
Four matches have advanced to the final round of voting this week.
Each voter must choose one of the following:
1991 US OPEN SEMI-FINAL
Seles d. Capriati 63 36 76(3)
1992 ROLAND GARROS FINAL
Seles d. Graf 62 36 10-8
1999 ROLAND GARROS FINAL
Graf d. Hingis 46 75 62
2003 US OPEN SEMI-FINAL
Henin-Hardenne d. Capriati 46 75 76(4)
The match with the most votes will be deemed the fans' choice for the
Greatest Match In Professional Women's Tennis History and announced
during the season-ending Bank of America WTA Tour Championships next
week.
Might I suggest that we all vote for the 1992 French Open final to
give Monica the best chance of winning? According to a poll at
www.monicaselessite.com, 63% of 228 Monica fans think the 1992 French
Open final should win, 24% the 1991 US Open semi-final, and 13% the
1990 VS Championships final (which was eliminated in the second round
of voting).
I would like to thank all those who helped the two Monica victories
to advance to the final round.
