There is a mini-article about Marion Bartoli on p.84 of the May 2003
issue of British tennis-magazine _ace_:

We take a look at the unsung heroes from the tennis circuit who are
making strides towards greatness.
MARION BARTOLI (FRA)
WTA TOUR NO.65
The 18-year-old compiled a superb 9-2 win/loss record for March, the
former World Junior Champion coming through qualifying at both Indian
Wells and Miami. It took Serena Williams (whose service she broke
three times) to stop her run through to the quarters of the Nasdaq-
100 Open, which had included a win over a crocked Lindsay Davenport.
Serena said: "I've never faced a player outside the top 10 who can
take the ball so early and return so cleanly."
Marion herself feels she needs to work on her second serve, but is
not short of confidence. Amazingly, she played down Serena's prowess
from the back of the court, saying: "When she runs, she's definitely
not very good."

The article is accompanied by a cute miniature photo of Marion
hitting a two-handed backhand at the Australian Open.
BTW, Marion needs help in a poll at http://www.wtatour.com/ : Who has
shown the most improvement so far this season? If you could just take
a minute to vote for Marion, it would help the Selesian cause a lot.
I have just uploaded the following photos:
+ "Amelia Island 2003 gathering" (in the top-level album)
+ Akiko Morigami album (2 photos)
* María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo album (+1 photo)
