Monica was due to play Marion Bartoli in her second-round match (after
a bye) at the Nazgûl-100 Open at Miami, Florida. I was really looking
forward to this match because Marion is a Selesian!

But Monica withdrew at the last minute, due to a recurrence of the
stress-fracture in her left foot which also forced her out of Indian
Wells.

"I'm really disappointed. I'm sad that I had to pull out, but it is
the best I can do for my health."

"This is SOOO disappointing! Mmmm! Mmmm!"

Monica won this tournament in 1990 and 1991, when it was known as the
Lipton International Players' Championships and held at Key Biscayne.

Because Monica had a bye to the second round, she was replaced with a
lucky loser, Evie Dominikovic (if Monica had played in the first
round, Marion would have had a walkover instead). Marion beat
Dominikovic 4-6 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 to set up a third-round clash with María
Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo! :-) So one Selesian will be in the fourth
round! :-)

Selesian results - WS qualifying:
1q María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo beat Akiko Morigami, 7-5 7-6
Marion Bartoli beat Seda Noorlander (both Selesians!), 6-0 6-7 6-3
2q María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo beat Mara Santangelo, 3-6 7-5 7-6
Marion Bartoli beat Ansley Cargill, 6-0 6-3

WS main draw:
1r Marion Bartoli (Q) beat Ally Baker, 6-0 6-0
María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo (Q) beat Marie-Eve Pelletier, 6-2 6-1
2r Marion Bartoli (Q) beat Evie Dominikovic (LL), 4-6 7-6 6-1
María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo (Q) beat ALEXANDRA STEVENSON (24),
6-7 6-1 6-2
3r María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo (Q) v Marion Bartoli (Q)
(to be played on Sunday).

MS main draw:
1r Raemon Sluiter lost to Anthony Dupuis, 3-6 4-6
Jan-Michael Gambill beat Stefan Koubek, 2-6 6-3 6-2
2r Jan-Michael Gambill lost to Rainer Schüttler, 2-6 3-6

I have updated the Photos section as follows:
* Jan-Michael Gambill (+11)
* Fabrice Santoro (+1)
+ Maria Antonia Sanchez Lorenzo (3)

(There are now two albums for María Antonia: the old one "María
Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo" which seems to be corrupted, and the new one
"Maria Antonia Sanchez Lorenzo".)
