First round
-----------
+ Fabrice Santoro d. Taylor Dent, 6-3 7-5
Fabrice: "It's a great tournament here. I've done well in the past.
I think the surface is fair for everyone. It suits different styles
of play. I wasn't able to stick to my game-plan very well today
against Taylor, but the result is what counts. To win against Taylor
indoors is a great performance."
------------
Second round
------------
+ Fabrice Santoro d. Paul-Henri Mathieu, 6-1 6-4
Fabrice: "I wasn't able to prepare my match as well as I would have
liked because of my doubles match which finished so late last night.
To win today, I knew I had to get off to a great start and then hold
my serve and that's exactly what happened. I was struggling a lot
more physically in the second set, but my service helped me to come
through as I hardly missed any first serves."
-------------
Quarter-final
-------------
+ Fabrice Santoro d. Vincent Spadea, 6-2 6-2
Fabrice: "I think I played the perfect match. I walked onto the
court very concentrated again. I've had a lot of hours on court this
week, so I knew I had to start well. I had an excellent start like
yesterday again. I've been playing professional tennis for 15 years
now, and I know how to prepare my matches; I know my job better than
ever. To get to the semi-finals of an ATP event is great, especially
at home in France. It's great to have got this far but I want to go
a bit further. It's a lot of fun to play on this centre court."

Semi-final
----------
- Fabrice Santoro lt. ANDY RODDICK [1], 6-4 7-6 (7/5)
www.atptennis.com: "Roddick's serve was potent throughout as he
blasted 23 aces and only faced one break point, in his opening
service game. The American fired three aces in the second set tie-
break before advancing in 1 hour, 39 minutes."
Fabrice: "He broke early and then dominated. His serve is so
powerful it makes it hard to counterattack him."
Roddick: "Nobody plays like him [Santoro]. It's a little different
because you have to change what shots to expect. He can hit touch
shots from anywhere on the court, so it's a lot different than most
players. He's very smart with the way he plays his points and uses
his energy. He was serving and volleying a lot, which made the
points shorter. I don't know what would have happened if it had gone
to three sets, but my mind was focused on trying to end in two sets."

====================
First round
-----------
- Marion Bartoli lt. Conchita Martínez, 6-1 6-1
www.wtatour.com: "Although Bartoli was treated on-court for a
recurring right wrist sprain, Martínez was nonetheless too crafty
for the Frenchwoman and claimed victory in their first meeting."
