Aiko Nakamura made a stunning début on the WTA Tour at Bali. The 20-
year-old Selesian from Japan had never previously reached the main
draw of a WTA tournament, but did it in style this week:
QUALIFYING:
1r + Nudnida Luangnam, 6-0 6-1
2r + Jennifer Hopkins, 4-6 6-3 6-4
MAIN DRAW:
1r + AI SUGIYAMA [3], 6-4 7-6 (7/1)
2r - Marlene Weingärtner, 5-7 3-6

of her Selesianity, here:

Marion Bartoli's woes continued, this time with heat-illness:
1r + Anabel Medina Garrigues, 7-6 (7/5) 6-2
2r - Tathiana Garbin, 0-6 0-2 retired
