    IMHO

    1. An expert walks down the street, sees trouble ahead and is prepared for it. A master walks down the street and sees trouble ahead, then crosses to the other side of the street.

    2. An expert swiftly dispatches attackers and if possible brings the conflict to a peaceful resolution. A master toys with his opponent as a father does with his child.

    3. An expert practices tirelessly to improve his art and the art as a whole. A master practices tirelessly because that is what he does.

Hard one, and probably more a question on philosophy that Aikido as you could apply the question to anything. IMHO...

An expert would quickly dispatch their attackers in a fight.
A master wouldn't get into the fight in the first place.

An expert likes everyone to know their an expert.
    A master simply doesn't care.

I think Sun Tzu said something about the best generals not needing to wage war, but it has been a long time side I have read the Art of War.

The expert masters only the technic. The master masters the spirit, the Ki and the technic.

I suspect a master is an expert with enough experience and inner confidence to have no-mind in startling/challenging situations where the expert's one-point still flies up.

There are no masters or experts. Just students and practioners trying to perfect their minds, bodies , and spirits.

Expert perhaps say more about knowledge and experience, Master is more about what comes beyond that.

"Expert" is a title that is taken. "Master" is a title that is given.

I agree with Jean-Marc Duclos. Expert is a knowledgeable person, but master is a wise one. It may be summarized as "Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens".

The answer to thei question lies in the spirit, a strong spirit comes from your mind and knowledge comes from practice.
An expert is someone who has trained alot someone with a lot of practice, to become a master you have to be an expert first. your spirit makes the difference.

An Expert can bend the spoon with his MIND.

A Master realizes "There is no spoon."
