I am writing to request use of the Dojo on Sept 6 from 2pm to 6pm for sword testing.

Thanks

Subject: [seattleschoolofaikido] save the date Oct 18; new keys

Happy August!
Two announcements:
1.  Save the date:  Saturday October 18 Robby Pellett Sensei will be giving a day-long seminar at SSA.  Details to follow.  Those of us who remember his Friday night classes are particularly excited about this opportunity to learn more from Robby.

2.  You will notice that we now have double-pane windows and a new door (alas, no transom).  The door opens out into the sidewalk (per fire code), and we don't yet have a good way to keep it open.  Please don't use the sign board for this function, as the board will get blown over and scratched in the process.  New door means new keys. Thanks to Mike's running around, many keyholders already have their new keys.  If you need one imminently, please contact Mike.

PLEASE NOTE:  The new door must be locked with a key; you can't just turn a knob.  So please make sure that the last person out will have a key.   We'll soon have a "lock and drop" key which can be used to lock the door and then throw the key back through the mail slot.

HOW TO LOCK THE DOOR:  Close door; pull up on the handle (pull hard!); then turn the key.  (Pulling up the handle activates the dead bolts.)

That's all for now.  If you're not traveling somewhere, see you on the mat!

Christy
