Join us for dinner this Saturday Oct. 21 at the Royal Palm to celebrate
30 years of the Seattle School of Aikido!
Royal Palm will provide a buffet with an appetizer, pad Thai (tofu and
chicken), cashew stir fry, masaman curry (tofu and lamb), steamed rice
and rice pudding dessert for $25/person, which includes tax & tip. All
the dishes will be made 1/2 vegetarian (vegan - no dairy, no egg, with
salt instead of fish oil and with canola oil) and 1/2 meat, so we should
be able to accomodate everybody (except those with nut allergies!
Apologies to Alex.).
Since they will need to shop and prepare on 10/21, we must get the final
count to Royal Palm by 10/20. Even if people don't show, we will be
obliged to pay for them after this point. I plan on calling on 10/19 if
at all possible.
It's a no-host bar. Happy hour goes till 7pm, with cocktails for $3.50
and beer for $3/pint. They also have a white wine for $20/bottle, $2 of
which is donated to a breast cancer research foundation.
The space is beautiful, I think you'll agree. It's street parking, the
biggest lot of which is just across from Whole Foods just down the block
and to the left. Royal Palm is on NE 65th St, just west of Roosevelt
Avenue. I've said people will arrive from 6 or 6:30 on. If you haven't
signed up already, please do. An envelope for checks is on the dojo
desk. While you are there, you can sign up for Mary Heiny's seminar,
which runs from 10 - 12 and 2:30 - 4:30.
Hope to see you there!
