1. This weekend, Aug 5-6, at his dojo in Ballard, Andy Dale is
sponsoring the Puget Sound Internal Arts Association Internal Arts
Gathering. The complete schedule is at http://wuji.com/ (click on
the red "Details" link). There are many interesting hour-long workshops
in various arts, including qi gong, aikido, and Feldenkrais. All
workshops open to all levels, including newcomers. Burk Dowell is
teaching a class on Sunday at 1:00. Cost is $10 per class, payable to
the instructor. For more information, ask me or Mike Ullmann, or
contact Andy directly. (Seattle School of Aikido is a member of the
Puget Sound Internal Arts Association.)
2. I hope you've marked your calendars for the 30th anniversary seminar
with Mary Heiny Sensei on Saturday October 21st . Looks like we may be
capping off the day with a nice dinner at a Thai restaurant. It would
be nice to have a new dojo t-shirt(doesn't have to be date-specific) to
commemorate the event. We're still looking for your input on t-shirt
designs as well as any other contributions you'd like to make to create
a successful celebration.
3. We have an A-Board to put out during class. The most propitious
spot on the sidewalk has not been determined; the key is to attract
attention but not trip anybody who is getting on or off the bus. Feel
free to take the initiative to put it out in the position deemed best by
your inner feng shui practitioner. If YOU put the sign out, please YOU
remember to see that it is brought in.
4. Mark your calendars also for Thursday, November 2, 6:30-8:00 when
Jan Nevelius (the soft ukemi guy) will be doing a class at the dojo.
