I'm thinking of some, but in the mean time I'm
gonna respond to your post to see if there's a change
in opinion :oP.

Ling Jie doesn't have a
consistant technique on her Hecht to high bar. Sometimes she
misses the bar and sometimes she just barely holds on.
Her kip to handstand doesn't look very easy, and
that's one of the most basic skills on bars. Her Tkachev
has a strange technique and she catches the bar in a
way that eliminates any type of swing, and it's also
not as big and nice compared to someone like Huang
Mandan and Yang Yun who both have great extension and
flight on their Tkachevs.

I agree with you for
Elise Ray. Except I just can't get over the fact that
she doesn't punch front out of her 2 1/2 Twist! :oP.
Otherwise, beautiful gymnast, great full in-laidout dismount
on bars, best I've ever seen.

Liu Xuan is
nice on floor as well.

Elena Produnova, I don't
love her and I don't hate her either. She's a
respectable gymnast that's constantly pushing the limits. For
someone who has the capability ot pushing the limits,
it's great to see them ACTUALLY do it, rather than
holding back. (*cough* Punch front, Elise, PUNCH
FRONT!!)

Svetlana Khorkina is great all over. Great work ethics as
well. She's not the most talented, and she doesn't have
the most efficient body for gymnastics, but when you
work hard, you can achieve success. She has multiple
skills named after her on every single event. Always
pleasant to watch on floor, great flexibility and
extension, great skill level. When you think she can't do
it, she proves you wrong.

Amy Chow, perhaps
too much stalder work. Gets kinda annoying, and on
the low bar at the beginning of her routine, her 2nd
endo coming out of invert full is usually a little bit
off balanced. But once again, great worth ethic and
skill level. Her old bar routine is still worth a
SV10.0 in this new code.

Eric
I was just thinking of gymnast that excel in a particular event.
Here are some of them and why I think they are so good at it:

Ling Jie - ...

I'm still not as good seeing mistakes on bars and stuff so I didn't notice that stuff on Ling Jie. I still wonder, with all these minor mistakes on how she ...
Well for one, Amy didn't make bar finals. Secondly, her routine doesn't flow as well, and the off balanced Endo Stalders like I mentioned, as well as perhaps...

Most of the juniors haven't even gone through puberty yet, so we'll have to wait and see if the extra weight and muscles will pull them back, or become an ...
Actually, I've seen gymnast when they were around 14 or 15 when they were very tiny do really hard skills and all. An example would be Ling Jie at the '98 Good...
Gymnasts typically get all their skills done young, or at least learn all the techniques and basics that will allow them to rapidly aquire new skills. In ...
Yes, that's true. I know Ling Jie was able to perform bigger skills when she was younger, as in back in '98. She was pencil thin, as compared to her muscular ...
Hey you all. I just wanted to promote Dana Utz photography because I recently got some good gymnastics pics. The prices aren't bad, and the quality is awsome!...
Nationals start tonight, I'm so excited! But too bad we won't see it on TV till Saturday ... fit it so well, but the veterans seem to be having some troubles,...
I just look everywhere. But don't worry, if you want pics of Sean, you can just go to this club and it should have it. That way, you don't ever have to search ...
I was sitting on the USA Gymnastics "Quick Hits" anxiously waiting for the results for the Women and Men's competitions in prelims. I'm glad that Sean is...
I think Jason Furr is the one to watch for the next few years. He sure has come a long way since the Winter Cup just earlier this year. Consistancy is ...
Yes! As expected, Sean Towsend is the 2001 US National Champion, whoohoo! And to top it all off, he bettered his prelims score by almost a full point, and that...
Yang Yun is suffering from the same wrist injury she got last year when she won vault finals at the 2000 Chinese Nationals. We will find out of her conditions...
I knew Sean was going to win. I had no doubt in my mind and I am very happy he did and congratulate him.

I was affraid Steve McCain wasn't going to...
Thanks for the Chinese Team update. So Yang Yun's injury is something to do with her wrist? I hope she can pull through and be better. As for Ling Jie, I think...
Definitely, Jason Furr is much more powerful than Guard Young. His big skills match those of Sean Townsends (well, they do train in the same gym right?). High...
Remember, the women now start from a 8.8, so a 1.1 bonus only starts her at a SV9.9, which might be high at this point, but she'll definitely want to aim ...
I'm sure many photographers were focusing photos on Sean since he's America's new golden boy! I think the pics will be awsome, and so if anyone has pics of him...
I was really pulling for Todd and Jason to make the Worlds team. That would be awsome. Two from USOTC, three from HGA, and one from Ohio State. These three...
Yes, so that would make here SV 9.9, which right now is a VERY high score for the Women. The Bars is the probably the toughest to get the SV of 10 Daggett says...
Based on little bits of what I've seen these gymnasts do and what I think they're capable of doing, this would be my personal team lineup.

Team ...
Yes! Predicting is fun. I have nothing better to do right now, so it's kind of cool to see what the possibilties are in the teams. I think your lineups are...
