Jon Kitna is a good twelve years away from the hall
of fame, if Holmgren wants to use him at all. Lets
run over the facts. When Mike Holmgren arrived in
Green Bay what did he have? Don Majkowski and Anthony
Delwig. I'm sure you've never heard of either of them,
but then he brought in a young joe from Atlanta for a
3rd round pick. bam. 2 superbowls and 3 mvps for the
no name man from the Falcons...what was his name?
Favre something? My point is that what we have now may
not be what is best for the team. Holmgren started
out with 47 hand me downs and by his third year he
had all different starters except Sterling Sharpe. We
could use someone like a Gus Frerotte or a Heath
Shuler, Sure they sucked everywhere else and was Gus
Frerotte really that bad? Holmgren took a fresh block of
clay in Favre and molded him into a superbowl winner.
I think he could do the same with Kitna or if we
draft/sign someone else than whatever. I would support his
desision in whatever he chooses to do with the team, who'd
of thought that Favre would turn out like he is now?
Not only that but look at the quarterbacks green bay
had drafted over the years. Mark Brunell, Ty Detmer
and many more... Okay maybe not more but those two
names are pretty big. I suppose if none of our
quarterbacks work out we could always bring Jim Zorn out of
retirement.
