The change takes place April 1st, which is the
official first day of the 2002 season. It is also the day
that the expansion team, Huston Texans begin
operations as a sanctioned NFL team.

For some insane
reason, the powers that be in the NFL decided that the
Texans should be in the AFC, which makes the two leagues
un ballanced. And since the locals of all the
confrences were wacked out anyway, (ie: Arizona in the NFC
east, and Carolina in the west) a whole re organizing
was needed. So, since the new team was deemed to be
in the AFC, someone had to leave. It was up to one
team in the Old western confrence, since we had 5
teams. They narrowed it down to Seattle and K.C. Guess
the Chiefs had more money to blow.

Anyway, as
of April, and the begining of the 2002 fiscal year,
the seahawks wil be playing as the future NFC west
champs. LOL.
