Hello ladies,

The Phillipines has just launched their first National side... it is
a huge step for ruggers in a country where womens rugby has been
limited to a less competitive form until now. As many of their women
have only played in uncontested scrums, they are opening their doors
to women who can prove eligibility through citizenship of that
country...

I know it wont apply to many of us, but just in case it applies to
you or anyone you know... I thought I'd pass it on...
Disclaimer: Of course, if you are super talented and fantastic, you
should only play for our Eagles... ;)

Philippine RFU Needs National Players
The IRB has elevated the Philippine RFU to full member status, and
the promotion requires the formation of a women's national team. The
PRFU currently fields men's 15s, 7s and U-20 teams, but the women's
squad currently plays touch only. The women's team must adhere to IRB
standar ds of full-contact rugby; therefore, the union is launching a
worldwide search for eligible Filipinas who can infuse as much
talent/experience as quickly as possible.

What does this mean? If you have a parent born in the Philippines and
can secure a Philippine passport, you're eligible to try out for the
national team and potentially earn an international cap. Several men
from the U.S. have already laid the groundwork for the process –
NYC's Clay Luraschi, FL's Austin Dacanay, TX's Phil Gittus, WA's Jeff
Betinol – and have earned caps for the Philippines while traveling
throughout southeast Asia as Volcano members.

If you know of any rugby player who meets these requirements or would
like more information, please contact Jackie Finlan at
jfinlan@... or call (856) 465-9385. For qualified men,
contact Clay Luraschi at cluraschi@....
