Coaches,

As you may know the USA U19 WNT Program will be holding a one day camp
In Fullerton, CA on Sunday November 5th, 2006. The camp is open to all
high school, college and club players born on or after January 1st,
1987 although only players born on or after January 1st 1988 are
eligible to play for the USA U19 WNT in 2007.

SoCal U19 Griffins
On November 18/19 an Invitational U19 NASC is being held in Nashville,
TN, but unfortunately due to a lack of numbers the SoCal U19's
Griffins are not participating, I have the rosters for the programs
who are participating and college freshmen make up the backbone of
these teams. It is my belief that SoCal will need to adopt a similar
selection policy and this camp is the first opportunity to view the
players that will make the SoCal U19's competitive in 2007.

USA U19 WNT
2006 was a rebuilding year for the program with very few returning
players so we set out on an ambitious schedule of running camps in
every area of the country. We went to Nashville, Colorado Springs,
Olympia WA, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Knoxville and will
end in Fullerton. Our goal was to provide players and coaches the
opportunity to attend a camp in their own backyard and not have to pay
to travel to a central location for a one off event. All of these
camps were incredibly well supported by the college teams in the
geographic area who all saw the benefit of having young players
involved in this accelerated learning opportunity. Of the twenty eight
players that we took to the U23NASC/Canada venue this summer only two
had not attended a camp and both were very well known to the program.

The IU19NASC is an important development in the selection process as
it will provide us with the opportunity to view players at a
representative level above that of their individual teams. We are
finalizing plans for an Elite Camp and games with Canada for early
January and the core of the selections for this event will come from
the IU19NASC. With the Griffins not attending this event the best
opportunity for the SoCal college players to secure an invite to the
Elite Camp will be to attend the camp at Fullerton. At this level we
value athletic ability over experience. If you have athletic freshmen
or sophomores who meet the age criteria please send them to the camp
on November 5th so that they can be considered for the USA U19 WNT in
2007.

I look forward to working with you in the development of the the SoCal
U19 Griffins and appreciate your support of the USA U19 WNT.
