Bannister - Smoke and Mirrors

I can see where you're coming from, but it is a bit harsh. His real
ERA was 3.87 and his xERA was 4.32, not the greatest differential in
the world.

With 15 HR and 44 BB allowed in 165 IP his HR-rate and control are
much better than an average starter. His weakness is a low k-rate.

He strikes me as a reasonable bet to have an 2008 ERA between 4.20 and
4.40. Whether this makes him a keeper or not depends on each
individual team.

Ken

This is a team I've been trying to get rid of for 2 years (too many teams) and paid little attention to last season but got coerced again into keeping. I...

Pretty nice for an ignored team. I think Grienke & Baker are the top two. Both are young and had success at the ML level. Bannister did it with smoke and...

All those guys have enough plusses that hopefully you could sell most of them off for prospects, upgrades, and picks. If I had to pick two to keep, I'd lean...

I like Grienke and Baker. Young pitchers with high upside and is consistent with the rest of your keepers. Also, I like Chavez and would keep him, too. ... ...

keep: Bannister, Grienke, Westbrook, Street cut: Fields, Harden __ Harden is the last cut, and only tough call, so you may see if you can get a 2-for-1 with...

Greinke and Baker have the superior ratios of that bunch. I would definitely keep them. Street is good, but is "just" a reliever. Good relievers are...

This is a pretty strong lineup, might as well take some chances : Dump Chavez, Harden. Keep Grienke, Baker, Danks, Bannister. Chavez looks pretty tattered...

I agree. I've got Harden and feel like I have to give him another year. Too much potential to throw away. I think on a strong team where he doesn't need to be...

Well, I've done some homework. Of the "other starters" I'd rank them: 1. Westbrook - solid pitcher who saps hitters' power. Unless his left oblique muscle will...
