Cyclists,
Saturday is our umpteenth annual Summer Picnic at Valerie Connaughton’s pad in bucolic, historic Mooresville,
AL. Her house is on Market Street,
immediately off of Old, Old Highway 20. The picnic will be at the community pool,
immediately behind her house. Festivities start at about 1:00 to 1:30 PM after the morning
rides. (See Below.)
Directions:
To get to Mooresville, take the Mooresville Exit from I-565. Head south towards the river. When Mooresville Road T’s into ancient,
unused Highway 20, turn right, then left onto Market Street. Valerie’s house is first on the
right.
SCCC will provide BBQ pork and chicken, beans, slaw, rolls,
HUSHPUPPIES, plates, cups, utensils, ice, soft drinks, some side dishes, shade
tents, fans, and (hopefully) all of the TT coverage from the TdF. (Provided
the UCI does not disqualify Floyd Landis’ balls as an illegal performance
enhancement or aerodynamic aid.)
Feel free to bring beer, desserts, or other side dishes (plus a means
to serve it and deter flies.).
Bring a hat, swim trunks, sunscreen, chair and I high tolerance for
heat. It gets hot on that pool
patio.
