The times are usually only useful to see differences. If they are using a FinishLynx camera (what you think of as "photo finish" type camera), then the line of the front of the wheel determines the time. The only way the total time is right is if they started up the camera at the start of the race and left it running without saving any files and changing to news ones on the computer for the entire race. As this race had laps, that's not so likely.
So, just use the times to tell the differences between riders, but they do not indicate a total time (note that Michael O. raced 65 miles today, even he's not fast enough to do that in less than 30 minutes). :o)
