A poor article full of inaccuracies.

Roop omitted how the motorist first slapped Tom during the
confrontation, nor did the article explain the seriousness of driving
a car really close by Tom instead of waiting a few seconds for a safe
pass. (The motorist told Tom he was "impeding traffic.")

The article seems to be saying Tom was reacting irrationally when,
given the facts, it was not even remotely a case of rage, but of
standing up for a cyclist's right to the road and responding to a
dangerous and belligerent motorist who responded with a physical
action that resulted in a serious injury.

The report was clearly biased, it accused Tom of road rage when the most he did was shoot someone a bird; Tom approached the motorist to communicate his right...
