Fellow GT5 racers,
There's less than a week to the 10th Flexovit GT5 Invitational at
Mid-Ohio. Yes, it has been 10 years since 7 GT5 cars turned out
for the first event won by Jeff Werth.
I hope that everyone is almost finished working on their cars. It
looks the weekend will be warm, in the mid-70's, with a chance
of showers on Saturday.
We will be in race group 4 with GP, HP and GT4 racing just
before lunch on Sunday.
The GT5 paddock area is on the grass. There is a field bounded
by trees just east of the new paved paddock. It's the first paddock
area that you come to when you walk up from Goodyear. There
may or may not be signs and flags to mark it off. If any early
arrivals who could strategically block off space, it would be
helpful. Hopefully the grass will not be the mud pit that it was last
year.
The now famous Saturday BBQ is hosted by the Charlie Pollet
and the Ohio Mini Owners crew. A $5 per person contribution
should cover it. All GT5 drivers and crew are welcome. We can
have an informal class meeting with Bob Dowie, one of our reps
on the GT ad hoc committee, and take the 2002 GT5 class
picture.
Unfortunately our sponsor and fellow racer Jay Iliohan can not
make the event, but the poster and Flexovit goodies will be
available for all entrants.
Safe trip everyone,
Joe Camilleri
