As many of you know already we have 2 races coming up.

An Adventure race (HW II Oct. 4th) and a 1/2 marathon-5K trail
running race (SS II Oct. 19th)

We all know adventure racing is an awesome sport, but for the sport
to continue and survive, we need new blood involved. It is a tough
but fun sport and something everyone should try once.

The e-Gel Desert Dash 1/2 marathon - 5K trail run series is doing
very well and prospering with many participants. Our last
race 'Moonlight Madness' we had nearly 300 racers and it is growing.

The Desert Dash Heat Wave series and the sport of AR however, needs a
boost. It is so much fun, yet non AR athletes seem to be a little
intimidated by it. I will give you my word that any athlete can
complete the Desert Dash races, how well you do, how fast you
complete it, depends on your fitness level as most Adventure Racers
know.

The elite athletes will complete the Desert Dash Heat Wave II course
in about 3 to 4 hours, the average athlete will finish in 5 to 8
hours.

All our races are designed for a beginner to survive, complete the
course, and have fun. The experienced racer will really be challenged.

To keep this Adventure race series going lets get signed up and go
racing.

The running series will make it on it's own and do well, that is
obvious.

As I race director I will be very honest with the AR athletes out
there. The AR's are 10x more work to put on than a running race,
with about 1/100th the profit margin. Plus sponsors are reluctant to
support the races because with the low numbers, they don't really get
a bang for their buck.

There are some great series out there like the Desert Rage, the
Monsoon series, the list goes on and on. I know these race directors
personally and they do a great job. They do it because they love the
sport. They may make a little extra Christmas or vacation money.
Thats it.

There will ALWAYS be a Desert Dash Adventure Race in Vegas, if for no
other reason, because I just absolutely love the sport.

The multi race series however is up in the air.

Sign up for these and other races so they will survive. Bring some
rookies with you. Just my 2 cents worth.

Get the early sign up discount by signing up now for the Desert
Dash. Bring some friends, spend the weekend in Vegas, have some fun.

safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in
broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly
proclaiming -- 'WOW, what a ride!!!'
