Very excited about this season. The West is going to be killer. To bad the NBA
doesn't seed the playoffs by record. That way the crappy East teams would stay
home. They are unwatchable. I do wish the Spurs could have added either Leon
Powe or Big Baby from Boston, but I think this team is complete. I don't think
many teams will score 1oo on them this season. I'm ready!
It's a good pick up for Boston. They still have Big Baby and Leon Powe to sign. Word is they aren't going to sign Powe. Sure would like to see his energy in a Spurs uniform. Boston is definetly back on top.

Where'd you see this? I can see them trading those guys, but not for another
player the same age and the same ability as 1 player. 3 players for 1 player.
There has to be more to the deal if they did that.

I think it's a great pick. There are questions about his health, (weight 277, and surgery on both knees in HS) but there wasn't a better player available who could fit right in and contribute. I compare his stats to Barkley. 1 thru 8 the Spurs look dynamic. I want to see Hill's minutes increase because I know he will be a star. It is goning to fun to see the upcoming season unvail. Love what the Spurs have done. Hope they aren't finished.

Overall, I really like DeJuan Blair. I really don't know that much about the other 2 picks though. DeJuan Blair looks perfect to go along with George Hill and the other younger Spurs.
Well, the trade was confirmed @ 8 pm. After being traded 1st time around,
Fabricio is said to have been traded to Detroit.

Jefferson is a great offensive player who can spot up or drive. If Manu gets
100% healthy, I do not see why the Spurs aren't the favorites to win it all next
year. Of course I still hold out hope that Drew Gooden resigns. What a starting

I read about that almost a wk ago on CNNSI. I agree. Manu plays a big role, but
he is injured way too often. You can almost compare him to Big Shot Rob. He's
out for the entire season, then might do something in the playoffs.
If I were Pop, I'd go for the deal with the Wizards. He's training enough new
players that if or when he leaves, there will be enough to show that they can
continue with the stuff Pop has taught them. Tony is the primary example of
that.

two playoffs, it is a good idea that they get what they can for him. I agree
that he is the heart and soul but his career is headed the same way as Grant
Hill. I think the Spurs need to get what they can for him while he still has
value. One more injury and they can forget about getting anything, including a
ring.

I'm not making any excuses (and not trying to give you a hard time), I didn't
expect the Spurs to beat Dallas without Manu. Dallas was playing well the last
8-10 games of the season and the Spurs weren't. Most people around here know
what Manu brings to the floor every night and it is a lot more than points or
rebounds. I also didn't consider this team deep enough to win it all this year.
Sure they had Kurt Thomas, Bruce Bowen, Fab, George Hill, and Roger Mason Jr
sitting over on the bench,(among others), but most of the them are longer in the
tooth that Duncan any day of the week.
As for the draft, you don't need a solid draft pick to improve your team. The
free agent class this year is interesting and their are some quality prospects
out there. Oh yeah, sometimes your second round draft picks are better than
those with guarnateed contracts, so we wait and see what happens. It should be
interesting.
Just want to ask, Do you think Dirk will really find his game against the
Nuggets? He really wasn't the Dirk we all know in the series against the Spurs.
Cheers until next season!

The bottom line is Duncan is old and that hurts worse than Ginobli being hurt
right now. If the Spurs don't draft someone else to help the cause this year,
then they might as well blow it up and start over. Oh wait, the Thunder owns
the Spurs' 1st round draft choice this year. Wow, it's been quite a run.

playoffs this year. Good luck in Round 2, I think Denver is playing too well
for Dallas to have a chance. They could be the sleepers this season.

From what I understand it's his knees. I also wonder if it's worse than they let on. I would think the NBA would frown on a team resting players just for the hell of it.

Why are they sitting Duncan on back to back nights?
