AYE AYE AYE GABE!!!! give him a break bro... hahahahahaha yes he
missed some of the easy tip ins but he may get better.. He's
definitely no Robinson.... Man, is it me or do we need Parker back in
a big way.. We're missing his 15-25 points a game... Anyway, I'd
rather the "slump" and injuries start early so we can gel and finish
strong... Go Spurs Go!!!!

PS - Is it me or did the season come so damn fast... Especially with
our COWBOYS doing good... Beat the foreskins!!!!

(sorry for football talk)

This was the worst game of NBA basketball I've ever seen in my life.
Yes the Spurs lost, and possibly could have won, but seeing as how
they missed approximately 368 lay up attempts (gotta love that
Ginobili miss at the end of the game). I guess I'll just use
the "Spurs were tired after last night, long flight, and bad air
conditions in Denver" as the reason they lost. Let me go ahead and
get this out of my system too since I'll be saying it for the next 6
months... RASHO NESTEROVIC SUCKS

Whats up Paul - actually Steve Kerr was there, just long enough to
get his championship ring but then he went up to the booth with Marv
Albert because he's now a TNT analyst. Tony Parker sprained his
ankle in the preseason, but its very minor. Only long enough to keep
him out of last night's game and tonights game VD Denver. The Spurs
said he should be back when the champs play New York on Saturday
night. Tonight we get to see for ourselves just how good Mr.Rookie-
of-the-year to be, Carmelo Anthony, is gonna play.

Hey Paul... how many drug charges and arrests will be made against
Portland Trailblazer players this season? I predict 8.

thanks diego,

it's nice to have player from your country playing in nba, while i only watch maybe two, or maybe three, spurs' game the whole season at the local tv station. and if they still think spurs is boring, i may not watch a single match this season in this "lakers's country", where the sport media is always reporting on that team.

Sammi;
To be sincerely with your question I just remember his pace with the
Australian Natinal team in two Olimpic Games (1996 and 2000). However I
surfed the web looking for more information about him and I copied and
pasted his profile to share with you.
I hope that it helps to responds your doubts.

Diego Mandolesi
Bahía Blanca
Argentina

PROFILE

Shane 'the Hammer' Heal is one of the best players in NBL history(the
National Basketball League of Australia). He played eight NBL season before
he left to play with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He never got a chance in
the NBA so he decided to return to the Kings and will be the teams starting
point guard in 1998. For Heal it all started with the Bullets in 1988. He
played the off guard spot with former Bullet Darren Perry. Heal quickly
became know as a cocky, brash and brilliant shooter, yet observers doubted
his ability to run a team. He left to play with the Geelong Supercats he
again established his reputation as a pure shooter but in his three seasons
with Geelong was never really given a chance to run the show. So back to the
Bullets it was and a chance Heal had wanted. To be the starting point guard
for the team. He produced, averaging over 20ppg and 5apg. In 1992 he stepped
up even further lifting his scoring average to 21ppg and 6.8apg. He was
selected to the 1992 Olympic Team but hardly saw action playing behind Phil
Smyth nand Andrew Gaze. His scoring average dropped in 1993. Yet Heal worked
hard in 1994 increasing his NBL scoring average to 25ppg and lifted his
assists to 6.8apg. Heal was gaining respect around the league and his
freakish scoring games were becoming more frequent. This was punctuated by a
61 point game in the season opener against the Townsville Suns. Heal also
scored back to back 40 point games in 1994. He was an obvios choice to start
in the 1994 World Championships in Toronto Canada and he impressed. He had a
great tournament and stepped up as one of the teams leaders. He again was a
big part of the Boomer team that competed in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
And a memorable clash with Charles Barkley shot him to international
stardom. He also gained big time respect form the man himself Charles
Barkley. He had offers from many team sdue to his performance in the Games.
It was the Heal-Gaze show with nobody else really stepping up. With all
these offers Heal went for secruity and he chose the Timberwolves, but it
wasn't to be. However he hasn't shut the door to the NBA totally. If another
offer comes he says he will consider it.

ACHIEVMENTS

Was the 1998 NBL rookie of the year
Has Played in two Olympic Games
Has played in the 1994 World Championships
Played one NBA season with the Minesota Timberwolves

Shane Heal is a point guard from Australia. Pretty much untested in
NBA waters. He's another one of those other country premier players
who tries to translate that success in the NBA. I hear he's got some
pretty serious game. With our point guard injury woes, we'll need
him. Another thing, with all our young point guards, I really wish
we could have kept T Porter as an assistant coach.

I have always like J Rose. I think that he would be one helluva pickup for Dallas. Add Curry, and that might just do the trick.

I have a couple of things to add to this.
First off Dallas still hasent even figured out
how to beat San Antonio or Sacramento
in a playoff series.  When it comes down
to it Dallas my be a high powered offensive
team but when it comes playoff time they cant
do it every night.  Secondly they have no rebounders
unless you call that deathstick Bradley a rebounder.
And lastly they still have no defensive presence which
is why they will not win a title.   I also dont think
that the Mavs bench is deep enough for the tough
comp in the West.

Defense wins championships

2003 NBA Champs San Antonio Spurs-Defensive minded team
2003 NFL Super Bowl Champs Tampa Bay Bucs-Defensive minded team

you cant expect to win it all in a track meet

Prediction- Dallas loses in second round of playoffs

Villified in LA, crying and wanting out of Denver.  They said he was
a troublemaker.

In Dallas, he was a model citizen and was a changed man...

Chemistry is something the "Big Three" dictate.  Believe me, if Nick
the Quick couldn't ruin it, neither could Finley's buddy Walker.

Look for a trade midseason for Eddy Curry and Jalen Rose for Finley
and Walker.  I see that one coming a mile away.  Both Fin and AWalk
are from Chicago...

I am so happy you think that. Underestimation is what our team will
feed off again!

No more starting a Walt Williams in place of Dirk in a playoff game!

You all know, if Dirk had not gone down, the series would have been
different...

Hi Steve and Indonesia;
I proceed to answer your questions:

1) About Devin Brown to be sincerely with you I don't handle to much
information about him and the way he plays basketball. I cited in my
analysis the players with more chances to develop the game all over the
season. However this not mean that he can not have a key some games. Also I
think that the rotation of the Spurs this year will be more deep that the
years before. The Spurs have a roster with 10 players that easily can keep
the team in track against any opponent.

2) The true position that Manu can play's shooting guard. Not doubt about
this but obviously this not mean he could not play the Point Guard or Small
Foward from time to time. Remember last year in some games he played along
Tony and Bruce or Stephen and rotate with this ones the 2 and 3 spot. I also
consider Manu at point guard to running the run and play a type "catch and
shot" game. Of course in that position (point guard) his yied shrink
considerably.

3) Sure. I think that Malik feels more confortable playing the power foward
and sometimes center (meaning this to defender a more size player). I
believe that sometimes he plays small foward and rotate his position on
offense with Tim Duncan depending which offensive move the team will
execute. He and Tim usually came in and out in the paint. I'm with you that
his long range shot needs more practice but I see him so secure shooting the
ball from the border of the zone.

P.S.: good analysis, diego... but i have questions:

(1) why there's no devin brown? what position is he really playing at?
(2) is manu good at PG (your last formation)?
(3) has malik ever tried at SF last season? (but i think he must try to
occupy to that position, and practice shooting a lot, of course ;D )

It should be Manu Ginobili!!! I think he is a very good player. He
causes a huge impact with his game and sometimes you don`t know what
he`s going to do with the ball.
