Re: [SA Spurs Rock] Digest Number 949

Don't you sound like a fair weather fan.  The Spurs have had a great run for the last 10 seasons.  Manu was hurt most of last year and had to have surgery.  They all knew that coming in to the season.  Parker has never missed significant time like he is now.

Look at it from a different perspective.  George Hill will get the on court experience he needs to back up Parker.  He has tons of talent, but is making the rookie mistakes we all should expect.  Mason and Tolliver also need time to learn and adjust to the team.  The injuries can be a blessing in disguise come the end of the season.  The rest of the guys are getting quality minutes and learning.  They are competing in almost every game, but they just don't have the drive to the basket guys to set up the Bowens and Bonners.  I honestly think that Mason and Hill will get comfortable real quick and begin to drive the lane and the offense will improve.

Trading Tim?  What the heck?  He is all class and don't you think he realizes that this happens sometimes, teams get banged up.  The Spurs are currently the most banged up team and it is glaring because you have two all stars sitting on the bench not playing.

All things considered, the Spurs aren't doing that bad.  Look at the records of some of the other teams like Dallas and LA Clips.  Those teams are 100% healthy and are sturggling.  They still have a chance to get back in it.  They can go on a run.  Don't stress, enjoy the watching the young guns, and stop thinking we have to be like the Lakers.  Have a little faith.

Last thing, do they really need to pay someone big money to win?  I don't think so, they have won four titles with their system and all good things come to an end sooner or later.

Still love my Spurs even when they are losing.

Manu and Parker getting hurt is nothing new. They are hurt as much as Shaq. Problem is Pop has surrounded TD with scrubs and they are feeling it. Finley should of retired three years ago and also the Spurs refusal to pay market money for free agents has come full circle. Duncan, in all his greatness cannot save them. Maybe out of respect to Tim, they should trade him to a contender if they are not going to surround him with good, healthy players. If the Spurs are going to stay cheap, then trade him. Duncan is all class. He doesn't deserve this.
