Hi all,

If you've ever wanted to whack on someone else with a historical sword
(geez, and we think epee is painful), there's a three-day symposium at the
Clarion Hotel in SF. Info below.

Subject: Fencing Symposium/ HMAS by the Bay

Dear Mary Keane;

We are hosting a Sword Symposium this President's Day
Weekend. Please forgive the lateness of this
invitation, but we did not know how to contact your
group. If three or more of your group attend the
symposium, we invite you as Owner/Head Fencing
instructor to attend the symposium as our guest. We
hope to foster more interaction between the different
sword groups for mutual education and diversity in
fencing partners. Please feel free to contact our
Director, Tony
Barajas 408-666-2303 or email rapiere_03@... if
you have any questions. Thank you in advance!

Tony Barajas, St. Michael's Salle d’Armes. Our post
follows:

St. Michaels Salle d’Armes and Davenriche Martial Arts
School are proud to announce the Historical Martial
Arts Symposium (HMAS) By the Bay, to be held
President's Day Weekend February 15th through the 18th
2007.

Featuring Master Classes by Bob Charron on Fiore dei
Liberi, Tom Leoni on Principles of Baroque sword and
Christian Tobler on Medieval German sword. In addition
we will have a taster track that will sample different
fencing styles taught by Antone Blair, Kristi Charron,
Gary Chelak, Eric Fick, Steaphen Fick, Steve Huff,
Cecil Longino and Dave Wilson & Jim Alvarez.

Hotel Space is filling up fast so please make your
reservations and be sure to ask for the HMAS
discounted room rate. You have to call the Clarion
hotel 800-252-7466 to get the rate--can't do it
online. The discounted room and parking rate closes
on Feb 5th. The early registration rate ends Feb 9th.
Please tell everyone you know that has an interest in
swordsmanship and history to sign up for what will be
a great event!

For more details and to register, go to:
http://www.stmichaelssalle.com
or you can contact me at rapiere_03@...

Please feel free to forward this to any one interested
in Western Martial Arts.
