Fencing in the Park

During the summer recess from our normal fencing class at Homestead High, we normally fence at Serra Park in Sunnyvale.  See the map below.

This is an informal fencing soiree.  We generally meet at about 7:30pm and fence/eat/gab until dark.

What you can expect:

    * Some lighthearted fencing.
    * Perhaps some electric scoring equipment. Or not.
    * Refreshments.  Choice beverages are normally shared, so bring your beverage of choice.
    * Snacks.  Ranging from chips, dips, cookies, etc. to the almost always present bucket of KFC.

What not to expect:

    * Formal instruction.
    * Provided fencing equipment, although one can typically find fencers who are busy not fencing and who have some equipment to share.
    * Footwork drills.  Does anyone really want to hang out at the park and do footwork drill???
    * Maestro John.

More of what you can expect:

    * Good comraderie.  Well, maybe we should say comraderie. You decide whether it is good or not.
    * Not very serious fencing.
    * Occasional mosquitoes.  Fend them off with your flick attack!
    * Good fun.  Well, maybe we should say fun. You decide whether it is good or not.
