Awesome, thanks!

Not enormously useful, as you can't see at a glance the channel or if it's
live or a repeat - but every little bit helps i suppose.
According to davidshep.net it was an automated system. Was the
automated
system included in the assets sale? If not, I wouldn't mind helping
someone
getting it up and running elsewhere.

Please let us know if you find an alternative.
The squatter who bought SoccerTV finally got around to rendering it useless.
Anyone know of anyone else who's doing a good online soccer television
schedule aggregator?
With the kids soon to be 3, we elected the back row center of the
Casbah hoping the hard core part is at the bottom still:
Section 109, row 20, seats 9-12
I think you should buzz Bill, Jay and Brad, they have an old farts
section already I think.
cheers,

Quakes Denizens,
As a former Casbahrian and one who is contemplating season tickets this
season in an area other than said section, where are people getting
their season tickets at Buck Shaw? Are there any former N3ers who have
purchased their tickets elsewhere? Maybe we can form a Casbah old

I figure if Ramiro has been playing overseas, he must have improved. Maybe the coaches there have taught him how to keep the ball out of the upper deck when taking shots. Aside from his infamous field goal shots, he was pretty good at the rest of his job as I recall.

Hey, we don't need to diss on Ramiro. Ramiro is a local (he was born in Salinas). I happen to teach in Salinas. These kids have a hard time making good of their lives. I think he did pretty well for himself. I'm sure Salinas will produce a couple more MLS-quality players in the near future.

Contrariwise, it would appear he gets it very well. From Wikipedia, on
"Franchise":
In sport:
* A professional sports team, a usage originating and prevalent in North
America, usually operated under the American-style of a professional sports
league organization
[...]
* Relocation of professional sports teams, in UK usage
I'm not saying we have to *like* it, mind you.

The Quakes just announced acquiring GK Preston Burpo from Chivas USA
for a 4th round draft pick and forward Kei Kamara from Columbus for
Brian Carroll.
Anyone been watching enough MLS to have an opinion on these two?

I have not watched MLS but I remember Carroll not being that bad of a
defender/midfielder. From what I recall and what I saw during the MLS Cup I
would have preferred to see him stay and Cochrane go. Yallop knew what he
was doing the first go-around so Kamara should be good, right? MFLS says his
nationality is USA but soccernet says its Sierra Leone. Which is it? Will
Kamara play for Sierra Leone in the Africa Nations Cup and WC qualifying?
Tough draw with Nigeria (20), Guinea (74), and South Africa (77).

I second Scott's comments. I had avoided Big Soccer and anything MLS-related until the rebirth of the Quakes. It was a long mourning season for me. And I did miss MFLS. But when I just went back to Big Soccer I remembered why I didn't like it before. Big Soccer threads often start out meaningful and turn into off-topic drivel quickly. It's hard to glean useful information out of all the postings. But I guess that is the nature of such boards whether they be sport or stock related. Not sure how that could be ever fixed with so many posters. I always preferred this email list.
Despite my sadness when the Quakes were gone, I never took off my SJ Quakes license frame. I always had hope!
I did way back
when for maybe a year but caught myself wasting too much time sifting through ignorant, off topic, or pubescent posts. I just read through three different threads and didn't have to sift. Maybe I'll resubscribe.
Scott wrote:

Ditto. The "Landon is soooooo dreamy" brigade drove me off, and i've never
been back.
