I know I'm reaching, but desperate times create desperation...
I found it interesting that two things happened this week. First, the Quakes created a San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Fame considering the uncertainty of their future in San Jose. Why would they bother? The optimist in me wants to interpret this as putting down roots. The pessimist in me says that the front office has time on their hands since the team is moving to Texas and the employees don't care if sales do well since they'll be let go in a few months.
Second, the Quakes announced that games against the Galaxy and Chivas USA will be on Telemundo. As far as I know, Telemundo is not part of Televisa. And Televisa is owned by the people who own Club America. So if the Quakes were going to be sold to Club America, you'd think the games would be televised on Televisa rather than a competitor. Now, it could be Chivas or the Galaxy that initiated the televising of these games, but the Quakes press release seems to indicate that the Quakes were the ones negotiating.
