That's two portions of the allocation now ain't it? I don't recall where
the first portion went (R Clark?). How many more portions are left? I like
the idea of grabbing a known quantity but Califf only played half of last
season which concerns me. I hope that portion was tiny given the overloaded
defense that LaLa has now.
It sickens me to hear all the other teams saying how easy it will be to fill
their remaining high profile spots (Chivas after the departure of Ramirez
and Sandoval, Sampson on GOL TV's American Soccer hinting of things in the
works, etc). The Quakes deserve more. We're collecting scraps from the
other teams. Do we have anything in the works? We're looking like the
Oakland A's of the MLS. Or are we MLS' 49ers who have spent cash ahead of
time and now only have championships to show for it?
I noticed last night on BigSoccer that half the posters feel that the 2005
season will turn out like 2001. Are they on drugs or is this season not
going to be as bad as I expect?
