New York Victory and a San Diego defeat. The first game of the World Series
now belongs to the New York Yankees. At the end of the ninth inning the Yankees
9, Padres 6.

ver the summer I went to San Diego CA to visit
my grandma. She took us to see teh Padres play the
Rockies. We sat right over the Padres dug out. During the
game a player gave us one of the balls that was used
in the game. I thought that was so neat! It was the
game where Ashby did like 74 or 75 pitches.

can still remember the excitement!! Now we're in the

t ended in a tie. It was a preseason game at the
Q. So can we take the Yanks? Yes! They may have an
edge on hitting but we have Brown and Ashby and Hitch
and Trevor and Langston and Hamilton. Hamilton has
done well coming off the bench. In fact I think that
he has throwen better off the bench than as a
starter.
A bigger hurdle than the Series is Prop C! If
it passes we have the Pads for a long time but if it
fails then we can loose them by spring so if you can
vote in the city of San Diego vote yes on C!

ey everyone,
I am new to this club. I am very
excited about the Padres in the post season. They have a
good chance at winning the Wolrd Series if they make
it past the Braves and right now they have two games
under their belts and are coming back to the Q. San
Diego city will be shaking from the noise. Go Padres!!
Happy Birthday sandcat2000.

irst of all, congrats Pads on a win that ends
their 4-game losing streak(I was there). Well anyways,
I almost lost to the Astros on the game. I forgot
who, but someone slammed on me, and gave poor
Boehringer(sp?) way high ERA. But all I gotta say is homers,
homers, and more homers. I believe in that game, Finley
got 3 homers, and right now, his average is over
.400. All together, the Pads have 25 homers in 4 games!
I don't know exact statistics, but Cami, Gwynn, and
Wally are kickin ass in average, and Gwynn and Vaughn
have 5 homers, Finley and Cami have, Joyner has 3,
Gomez and Hernandez have 2, and poor Q, with 0, doesn't
look like he's gonna get any for the whole season. In
this game, he isn't strong at all, and what would be
the normal homer for everybody would be a fly to the
warning track for him. He did get a triple though, so his
speed pays off. I'm not a good stealer in this game, so
I never attempt it, but I bet if I were good at it,
Q would have 4 or 5 by now. Poor Q has the lowest
average too, lower than .200, but I think everyone else,
even Gomez who hit 2 homers in the Astros game brought
his up over .200. But he wouldn't have done it if the
pitcher wasn't an idiot and pitched fastballs right down
the middle, cuz its almost as hard to hit homers with
him as it is with Q. Pitchingwise, Hoffman has 3
saves I think. Brown and Ash have only pitched one
each, the first 2, so they are still good. Hamilton
wasn't bad either. I pitched 6 innings with him in the
Astros game, and he gave up 1 run in like 6 innings.
Boehringer and Miceli got screwed in that game. Sterling, as
he does in real life, sucks. He gave up 5 runs in 4
innings. I had to take his ass out quick, and Boehringer
and Miceli did a lot better when I brought them in
that time. Well, I will only have this game til
tomorrow, so I gotta get back to playing it.

t's a game on the Nintendo 64, and I just rented
it for the third time. Gwynn is definitely the man
on this game, but there are a lot of others that are
ALMOST as good. It's almost too easy to hit homers with
him, Cami, Wally, and Vaughn. I started a new season(a
really short one, only like 15 games or so), and I've
played 2 games. Cami seems to be doing the best, at an
amazing average of about .850, with 3 homers that I hit
in the second game. Gwynn and Joyner are .750, Gwynn
with 3 homers and Joyner with 2. Vaughn is .500 with 3
homers. Steve Finley, Carlos Hernandez, Q and Chris Gomez
get the shaft. Finley is .150 with a homer, Gomez
also has .150, Hernandez has .200, and poor Quilvio
has .133! As far as pitching goes, poor Hoffman gave
up a homer, but he has 2 saves, Ashby ALMOST pitched
a shutout, giving up a homer with 2 outs in the
ninth, and Brown gave up one run in 6 innings. Miceli
pitched 2 scoreless innings. Of course, none of the
pitchers got any hits, and believe me, if u saw how little
their crosshairs for hitting are, u could see why,
heheheh. They are tiny! Anyways, the scores for the games
were 8-2 and 10-1. I think I could get a shutout
season easily. In fact the teams I played were the Cubs
and the Brewers, and no, Sosa didn't get a homer! In
the second game, I got back-to-back-to-back homers
with Gwynn, Cami, and Wally. That was cool, cuz after
Gwynn homered, they changed their pitcher only to give
up 2 more. I'll give more updates on how much I'm
kickin ass with the Pads.

must say, last night I was cracking up in the
6th. It was hilarious. Walk after walk after walk and
whoops, hit batter, then another walk. The fans got ahold
of that one. I can't believe how many walks there
were altogether in the game for the Dodgers. Congrats
to the Pads on a great game. Kinda sucks that
Spencer had a bad outing, but ,he'll get in the hang of
things. No one pitches perfect. Anyways, this was one
time that I didn't give up on the Padres even though
they were down. In fact, when Joyner was up in the
5th, I was like "OK Wally, perfect time for a homer."
Sure enough, he must have thought the same thing. That
was cool that they were celebrating n stuff. For
those of you who didnt watch or dont get channel 4
Padres, they were showing some of the celebrating after
the game. Man was the champagne raining! I can't
believe how many people were there. Over 60,000 were
there, waving their Gwynn clone t-shirts. I wish I
could've been there.

esterday was a good example of good pitching. It
really doesn't matter how many hits, or walks you give
up, as long as you don't give up runs in the process.
And yesterday was a game that really symbolizes how
important Padres pitching is. Padres certainly aren't a
good slugging team. That would be another thing they
would have to work on. But their fielding, and most of
the time, their pitching is superb, which makes them
a very good defensive team. And as long as they
keep up their great pitching and fielding, they can
avoid giving up many rins, and they wouldn't need to be
a grand slugging team. 1-0 is all it takes. Good
job by Hoffman, even though he almost gave up a
homer. But of course, almost in any game, doesn't cut
it. I almost thought he was gonna blow his second
save, but he pulled it off and got #48. Good for him.

ERY SADDENING!!! What the hell has happened to
Padres pitching? 4 Homers? It was unbelieveable that
they were winning 4-1, and lost 11-5. Yea, I do know
that some of the fielding was bad, but lets face it:
Padres need some new pitchers. Lately, I have been
seeing a lot of games like this, where the pitchers
aren't doing their job very well. I am glad that the
Pads beat the Mets that one night. That was a close
game, and a good come-from-behind win. I thought they
were gonna do that last night, but nobody was hitting
very well at all. Thats another thing that the Pads
need to work on. That was one of the few games in
which Q was doing better than everyone else
hitting-wise. That cancelled stolen base was a bunch of bull
big-time. If the umpire interfered, then his ass shouldn't
be ump. I honestly don't think the catcher would
have thrown him out anyways, Q totally had it. Well
anyways, they better get the shit on the grill the next
few times. They are slowly losing my confidence in
them. I especially didn't like Castilla hitting 2
homers in the game, and the first time, those
back-to-back homers. I tell ya, if I was Bruce Bochy,
Hitchcock's ass would have been out after that second homer.
I wouldn't tolerate that at all. I don't like Hitch
anyways, but it seems as if the only good starter they got
now is Brown. Ashby was doing awful on that Mets
game, and Hamilton plainly sucks(they would like to
think he's improving, and he might be, but that don't
make him good). As I said before, they definitely need
some new pitchers. I just don't like seeing my only
good hometown going down the drain.

know what you mean, but you have to include
Macelli in the list with Hamilton. Although Hamilition
has the talent he doesn't do the best he can do. The
reason I mention Macelli is because he almost lost this
game all by him self...why didn't Bochy pull him after
he gave up the second...the third...the sixth...run.
Macelli took over in the 7th with two outs. Yuck. Time
for him to hit the bricks.

have always wondered why I always see certain
pitchers more than others. Like lately, I haven't seen
Ashby or Brown out there very much, and they are the
best on the team. Instead, I see Joey Hamilton and
Sterling Hitchcock. Don't get me wrong, those pitchers
aren't bad. But then again, they aren't really good
either. And I see them more than the best on the team.
And what I REALLY don't understand is when the people
on Channel 4 who talk during the game say that, when
one of those 2 gives up a homer or a lot of runs in
few innings, that they pitched really well. That is
absurd. Yea, I know that when some hitters get in their
groove, they are nearly unstoppable. But that certainly
doesn't allow for a compliment on the pitcher who gave
one of those hitters a homer. And if a pitcher has
givin up 6+ runs in like 5 innings, it's really hard to
say that they pitched well. One example I can give
is, if I remember correctly, when the Marlins beat
the Pads 6-0. To me, there is no excuse for the best
team in the league to lose to the worst team. But if I
remember correctly, the Channel 4 people were
complimenting the Padres pitcher, the pitcher who gave up all
the runs. If they have anyone to compliment, its the
Marlins pitchers and fielding. I mean, after all, they
didn't give up any runs on 12 hits, mainly because they
were able to keep all the hits down to singles. But I
was really surprised to hear them complimenting the
Padres pitcher. If they would say anything about the
pitcher, they should have said, "Well, at least he tried."
or something like that, cuz the pitching really
wasn't good at all. I think another example was the
Phillies game in which they won 8-3(or was it the Braves,
I can't remember). They did the same thing that
game. If the pitching was good, then obviously, the
other team wouldn't have gotten 8 runs. To me, a well
pitched and fielded game would have 4 or less runs.
That's just my opinion though, obviously. Tell me what u
all think.

this team can be kept intact for next year. One of the

e has a lot of little (for him) nagging injuries
and he needs to heal. The Pads can do this because we
are so far ahead of everyone that they can sit him
down without hurting the club. If we were only two
games ahead you can be sure that he would be playing.

wynn may be the man, but while he's out, Cami
and Hoffman steal the show. Last night, 2 HOMERS BY
CAMI IN ONE GAME!! Hoffman did shitty I hate to say. I
actually thought it would be his second blown save. But it
turned out well for the Pads. I think that if Cami
remains in his groove, he might end up with 40 or more
homers by the end of the year. Hopefully, Vaughn will
break 50 homers, although I don't particularly think
that he's any better of a home run hitter than Cami.
