Re: [San Diego Padres Pub] Kevin Towers

Towers also has a horrible record with is college and rule 5 draft
picks. Me thinks his days are numbered. What about our Double A
picthing staff? That is not Greg Booker's fault.Towers is supposed
to be this pitching talent guru. Sorry, don't think so. Blaming
the coaching staff is wrong.

Bochy was manager of the year a few years ago. Did he suddenly
become stupid? No. The Padres current problems can be laid right
at the door step of Towers and his scouting staff.

Padres future is very bright. They really are just a few
ingredients away from being a contender. I don't like Tower's
obsession with obtaining a top notch shortstop above all other
needs. Vasquez isn't so bad and does a decent job until Khalil
Greene can take over. The pitching staff could use some upgrades,
Lawrence and Peavey could be very good pitchers but not at the top
of the rotation. One stud pitcher and a solid #4 guy could totally
turn this pitching staff around as well as getting hoffman back.
The offense needs a major upgrade though. Nady and Kotsay are
decent but Rondell white will need to be replaced at the end of this
season and I don't think Bay will be the answer if the team is going
to be contending next season when the new ballpark opens. Second
base is a blackhole and Catcher could definately use a major
upgrade. Just my opinions of course.
