Re: Re(2): [sandhu] New photos/bios for Canadian National Team 2001-02
Here we go Sandhu fans!
First, let me tell you that Maureen and I are off to Saskatoon in November
for Skate Canada - we will provide plenty o' e-mails to the list, and I
have every intention of inviting Toller to meet us (despite his insistence
that he does not go to competitions) there. Should be fascinating.
Next, about the blonde tips, I say "hasta la vista!" who needs em. Emanuel
is moving into a wonderful time as a young man. He does not, IMHO, need
any extra help to win gold - the beauty of his skating, clarity of edge,
and musicality will win the day. I noticed that it lists his SP on his
solo picture but they haven't changed music for S/P either. I think this
is going to Emanuel's year, and he will emerge as a top 5 contender.
Emanuel's talent - I've seen it before with singers and dancers - will
mature enormously now that the trauma of teenhood is behind him. One mark
of maturity is leaving the experimental stuff like tips behind.
Now about music - since everyone is picking the classics: Maureen and I
hope to do a tape of music that we think he should skate to some time. We
think the Brahms 1st Piano Concerto or Mahler's 9th Symphony. I think he
would do real justice to Katelby's "Songs from a Persian Market" as well.
Enjoy the day! - Dean
