Hi everyone,

third place in free skating - great!
(By the way I don't realize the higher score of Jeffrey Buttle, what was it he
earned the technical score for???)

I think it's going to take awhile for people to understand that in CoP, the
technical score now specifically recognizes things other than jumps. Had
Emanuel/Joanne recognized this detail, Emanuel's final result at Worlds might
have been quite different.

It seemed to be a tough competition for everybody there in Moscow may be
because of the condition at the rink or due to the preparation for the Olympics.

My impression is that it was a difficult event because so many of the guys were
skating injured.

It isn't the time and the place to discuss the expectations for
Torino but one thing should be clear: The winner takes it all ...
so the pressure next year will be completely on Jeffrey Buttle
Superstar. Canada will expect him to be at the podium in Calgary (at least)-
this makes it easier for Emanuel (I hope so!).

IMO Emanuel did better at Worlds than ever before. Sure, there was
the chance for more ... but it's over and all the guys there were
struggling. Emanuel reached the Top Ten for the fourth time in a row. We know
he wants more ... but with his third place in free skating he proved what is
going to be possible even in the strong field of these competitors.

Congratulations from Germany. Hold on to your dreams...

Klaus

Emanuel has the potential...that's always been clear. I have to throw in a dose
of reality, however, because this season I feel that they shot thrmselves in the
foot before they ever got started. It seemed that they put total emphasis on
having a quad and failed to upgrade other areas of Emanuel's programs to get the
most out of the CoP system. I pray that in Emanuel's dreams he'll see his way
clear to focus on these details in addition to that pesky quad. If he'd done
that he'd be unbeatable.

Hazel

Hi Klaus, I think that most of the commentators need to bone up on the new system and suspect that their opinions will serve to confuse people until they do....
