ack! poor emanuel! i really love his short program though (despite the fall
and the failed jump). I think he needs a strategy like the commentators
mentioned on tsn...even if he attempts the quad and falls, he'll get more point
over popping the jump...ack! well he is in 7th now, but it's close between the
3-7 ranks...he still has a good chance in the free skate. anyone know the value
of his free skate?



The free skate no longer has a value per se. The points each skater has from
the SP are added to the points they are awarded in the FS. I think that Jeff
has the Gold wrapped up as he has a signifcant lead on the others, but if
Emanuel skates well he can certainly make the podium as there are only 3.28
points between him and Stefan who's in 3rd place right now. Even catching Ben
is possible, but he'll have to skate better than he did tonight.

I love Emanuel's SP after he finishes stalking the quad and the triple axel.
That kind of choreography will do him in with this system.
