2004 MasterCard Skate Canada International to be held in Halifax

Mississauga, ON (October 29, 2003) At a press conference today, Skate Canada
announced that Halifax will be the host city for the 2004 MasterCard Skate
Canada International.

The event will take place Oct. 28-31, 2004 at the Halifax Metro Centre.

"Skate Canada is very excited to bring the 2004 MasterCard Skate Canada to
Halifax," said Pam Coburn, Skate Canada CEO. "Halifax has been a wonderful
host to a number of skating events, both national and international, in the
past, and we are pleased to bring a major international event back to this
city."

Skate Canada expects that over 25,000 spectators will attend the four-day
event, which will bring an economic impact of approximately $8 million to
Halifax. All-event ticket packages go on sale on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m.
(AST). All-event ticket packages will be available for purchase at the
Halifax Metro Centre box office, open Monday through Friday 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.,
