Messieurs
1. Yagudin Alexei RUS (374,5)
2. Sandhu Emanuel CAN (336)
looks like there was a huge difference between Alexei, Emanuel and the rest
of the field. Let's hope that this translates into a good year for Eman.
3. Dambier Frédéric FRA (238)
4. Jeannette Stanick FRA (187,5)
5. Li Chen Jiang CHN (128,5)
6. Joubert Brian FRA (81)
7. Lindemann Stafan GER (74,5)
8. Klimkin Illia RUS (62)
9. Debay Jean Michel FRA (38)
Here are the parts which relate to Eman
from Wonderlessia:
...OTHER skters on the ice, and was amazed by Joubert and Sandhu in
particular...Sandhu was practising really hard, trying out some cool
looking sensual moves on the ice as well as the jumps.
re the Gala:
towards the end it was Sandhu's time...WOW he was stunning! he skated to
Prince's Purple Rain and did this wonderful, sensual and artistic routine
that got every single woman in the audience to look at him in
amazement....he was soooo good. he did a little encore on Sex Bomb after
that ( and i thought that the song surely related to him so much better
than it will ever do to Zhenia ) he was in a really good shaped, the jumps
were really good and the interpretation was excellent ( i can tell you..he
was really hot...)
further down from TessavanL:
Not all the skaters were at this practice, the ones I remember are Stefan
Lindemann, Klimkin, Li and Sandhu. And yes, Emmanuel Sandhu was training
really hard indeed! When I saw him skate I didn't remember who he was and
did not recognize him at all (shame on me!!!) and as he was trying and
trying a triple Axel but not nailing it, and also making lots of mistakes
on his other jumps I thought he had to be one of the lesser-known
skaters.how could I be so wrong????
Emmanuel Sandhu blew me awaayyyy!!!! He is sooo good!! And there I was
thinking he couldn't even land a triple Axel! I must have been wearing
blindfolds at the practice Friday or he was having a really really bad day
that day, because all of his jumps were clean and confident now, including
his 3A, LOL! I think he also landed a quad salchow, but it might have been
a quad toe.I forgot. He jumps the other way, too, so I had to concentrate
to be able to identify his jumps. He totally deserved his second place and
I felt really bad for not recognizing him at the practices!
....and Emmanuel Sandhu! Like Alessia said, he was sooo good!! He was very,
very, very good and got everybody on his/her feet with his Purple Rain
routine. Very cool moves.
from Wonderlessia:
i agree with you about Sandhu, he was a revelation. i see great potential
there. and he looked like he really wanted a fight with Alexei, didin't
he??? i am sure he enjoyed the competition as much as Alexei did. the main
difference was that Sandhu seemed to be fighting for every jump, while our
guy looked more as if he was going to go to the office in the morning, a
huge smile on his face, and there he went, jumped, came
back...easy-peasy...
from TessavanL:
Yes, Sandhu looked very much like he wanted to show off what he was
capable off. I think he has great plans for this season, and if his
exhibition routine is anything to go by, I think it will be a great season
for him! He's not just a great jumper, he's got something more to give. I
should find out some more about him. I will definitely be keeping my eyes
on him this season!
from SkateSand:
Emanuel is a brilliant skater and now you know why he is always on my list
of those who could be standing on the podium at any time. Once and if he
conquers his competition nerves, he will be formidable indeed, and it is
skaters like Emanuel that give me hope it won't just always be Alexei and
Plush fighting it out for first :lol - there is always room for more
wonderful skaters in this world. :D And even if he doesn't get it together
competitively, his show skating is always interesting and innovative. Some
skaters are perhaps just destined for entertainment and that's where they
really come into their own, and there is nothing wrong with that.
