footstraps are easier to get in and out. if you don't run very big dunes footstraps should work quite well for you. it becomes little scary to develop tricks...

candle wax works, but candle wax with parafin works better. last more and goes faster. just melt wax and add some dust of graphite in a small can or something....

Yes, I used to go to Pt Mugu near Zuma beach a lot. Its right there on hwy 101. Nice place. easy access. only 45min from LA. Dumont Dunes is the best though....
