I enjoyed this article. Coincidentally, I was able to visit Paris
last month, and trained at both Masseran and Choisy-le-Roi France!
It was a fabulous experience being at both clubs -- both were tough
work-outs with friendly people, as the article describes. It's great
getting to train with another schmo in jogging pants, and then
finding out they are a member of the French national team, or a
district champion.
One interesting sight was watching Jose prepare a guy for his first
fight -- he did five rounds against five different experienced
fighters, some from assaut and some from combat. He had a one-minute
rest between each, and a fresh opponent each round. Not an easy
exercise!
I was also able to visit the club called Lavallois. The training
there was excellent, although the atmosphere is not quite as warm.
M. Le Duigou suggested that for a North American visiting Paris, a
good way to arrange to do some training is to introduce yourself and
what you're looking for on the message board at the French Federation
