Bobbie and Bernard to Enjoy the Great ESkate in Miami!
Roberta G. Glass and Bernard E. Scoville are leaving Sacramento
February 8, Wednesday, 2006 for the Great ESkate
(http://www.skatemiami.com/ ), a convention for inline skaters. They
expect to return February 15, Wednesday, 2006. At Bobbie's
(Roberta's) insistence, the two will be traveling by plane, instead of
skating.
Bobbie is just learning to skate, but she has a daughter, Terri, who
lives in Miami. Terri has three children.
Bernard is the former coordinator of the Sacramento Monday Night
Skate, and the former Director of the Sacramento Branch of the
National Skate Patrol. Brain Malone (916-685-0763) is now performing
these tasks.
Bernard is an inline skating instructor. He teaches private lessons,
and he teaches classes for the City of Sacramento Department of Parks
and Recreation. Bernard hopes that inline skating is coming back into
popularity. He sees some hope for this in that all the rooms for
inline skaters at The Riande Continental Hotel, which is hosting the
convention, were already reserved two weeks ago.
Inline skating is a fun aerobic exercise that burns 570 calories an
hour while bringing back your childhood. Bernard feels that it makes
a great addition to almost anyone's health regimen.
The last inline skating convention Bernard attended was several years
ago in Montréal, Quebec. Bernard believes that it will be fun to
again meet so many other skaters, and to skate with them. He hopes
that with his 100 millimeter wheels, he will be able to keep up with
the group. He also wants to know what is going on in the inline
skating industry. What are the new ideas, technologies, and social
organizations? Who will be the new president, and what will be the
new organization of the National Skate Patrol?
Bernard will take a still camera and a camcorder with him. When he
returns he will report on what he has learned. He hopes to be able to
post some of this information to his Sacramento Skating website
( http://www.fortunecity.com/marina/anchor/288/ ), which he will soon
move to paid hosting that will have an easy to remember address and
can support video clips.
To protect themselves, Bobbie and Bernard will be wearing full
protective gear.
Bernie
