For your information, there are two primary Ashihara Karate organisations
(although there seems to be some new pop-ups all the time – but they seem to
come and go). These two are NIKO – the New International Karate Organisation
led by Hidenori Ashihara – the son of the late founder of Ashihara Karate
and then Ashihara Karate International (AKI) led by myself.

In Sri Lanka, Karu Sensei – who is also a member of this list and an old
friend, is the representative of NIKO whilst Hudasinghe Sensei is the
representative of the AKI. I taught and trained in Sri Lanka several years
ago and look forward to visiting sometimes again in the future.
