Our school goes camping every summer and the students relish the
thought of finding a cool tree trunk on the ground to practice their
Niahanchi kata ... or a short railing or anything along that line. I
have even had them doing it on hills ... sideways to see how they
hold up ... lol ... and their backs against a hill or a bush or a
bunch of trees.
Of all of our kata's this kata is their favorite. In our school we
have a giant 150 lb. hanging bag that is always lying on the
floor ... and they do their Niahanchi kata on that at times to learn
balance.
Give them different scenarios for their kata's and they will practice
them even more ... and they will come to love them even more.
Especially the kids and teens. :-)
