Re: Crazy Larry drills

Folks who have been reading this list for a while have heard me talk about
"Crazy Larry" drills on the heavy bag.

Essentially, you and your partners take turns hitting the bag as hard and as
fast as you can for a specified length of time. Most often, using beginners and
young people, we do 15 seconds.

So, if you have, say three students, you go 15 seconds on and 30 seconds rest
before you hit the bag again.

This is one of the best anaerobic exercises I've encountered: it really tires
you out fast and really tests how strong your will is.

They seem to have taken the videos of UFC 66 and the match between Chuck Liddell
and Tito Ortiz off of You Tube. When they were still up, it was really
interesting to see Chuck Liddell do a Crazy Larry drill on Ortiz head.

Essentially, he punched until Ortiz went down and then he got on top and punched
until they stopped the fight.

regards,

Hank Prohm
